WHO IS LESLIE SHAWVER AND WHY DOES SHE STAND OUT AS A TRUSTED LMT AND SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPIST?

Leslie’s massage training, experience, and her relaxed, comfortable style speak for themselves—and her lifelong experience as an athlete in a variety of sports enable her to personally relate to the needs of her clients. She delights in their physical gains and achievements—and she can deeply empathize with personal frustrations, delays and disappointments caused by injury.

Leslie says, “I listen, and I take everybody’s pain seriously. I like people, and I let them move forward at their own speed. I like to help them be their best physically, which also contributes to their emotional and mental wellbeing. I’m happy to say that I really enjoy my work. I have fun…and I think that is why my clients find it easier to relax and enjoy their massage sessions with me!”

Besides her license in Massage Therapy, Leslie earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Sports Science from Miami University (of Ohio). She grew up in Ohio where she enjoyed watching professional sports in the Cincinnati area. Throughout her school years, swimming was her sport of choice. While in college, she went to “Nationals,” swimming freestyle and butterfly.

Later, moving to Colorado, she learned to ski and worked on Ski Patrol. Scott kayakingShe would ski the snow-covered mountains in the winter—and in the summer she worked as a river guide. Both skiing and whitewater rafting are sport challenges she continues to take on frequently— highlights being the Colorado River/Grand Canyon, which she has rafted numerous times, and telemark skiing at local ski areas and in the backcountry. She also enjoys leisure time skate skiing, cycling, rafting, kayaking, swimming and the practice of yoga.

Leslie received her Massage Therapy License in 1991 when she moved to Oregon. For 10 years, (until 2008), she served on the Cycle Oregon Massage Team. Her community spirit is evident in who she is, what she does, and how she conducts her business. Appreciating the importance of good nutrition, and her support of eating and buying food locally, she currently volunteers at the Springfield, OR Farmers Market.

Leslie is married to Scott Olson. They reside in Springfield, Oregon where they both live, work, and enjoy their many outdoor activities. They have a golden retriever, Lilac. Both Scott and Leslie believe in reducing the use of “wasted energy“ which is why they both work within seven blocks of home, buy goods locally, and reduce and reuse whenever possible.
